All of us at Atlas Certification were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Lord Jamie Lindsay.

Lord Lindsay will be remembered not only for his distinguished public service, but also for his longstanding commitment to quality, standards, accreditation, and the value that independent certification brings to organisations, consumers, and society. His support for the principles that underpin accreditation helped strengthen confidence in certification and the wider conformity assessment community across the United Kingdom and beyond.

Those of us involved in certification understand the importance of trust, integrity, competence, and impartiality. These are values that Lord Lindsay championed throughout his association with UKAS and the accredited certification sector. His contribution helped promote the recognition and credibility of accredited certification, supporting organisations in their pursuit of continual improvement, quality, safety, sustainability and excellence.

At this difficult time, our thoughts are with his family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him. His legacy will continue to be reflected in the strength of the UK accreditation system and the many organisations that benefit from it every day.

Lord Jamie Lindsay’s contribution to UKAS, accreditation, and certification will not be forgotten. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
